V. RATIONALE                  :

Educators are vital to the development of every municipality. Their performance determines the quality of the labor force of their area that’s why their efforts must be honored. With that, the Municipal local Government Unit of Mahayag together with the Federated PTA and the Alumni organized the “Synchronized District World Teacher Day Celebration for Elementary and Secondary” pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242 Declaring the period from 05 September to 05 October of Every Year as “National Teacher Month” signed on August 24, 2011 by His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III.

VI. METHODOLOGY 

1) Special Activities for Teachers. All teachers shall take a break from their classroom duties to give way for special program like free make-over and spa treatments, foot spa, body massage, pedicure and manicure and other services from EPP/TLE/TVE/STEP students or from private sponsors.

2) Religious Activities. Districts and Schools may conduct religious ecumenical activities or liturgical activities or liturgical celebrations.

3) Synchronized Culminating Activities. Divisions and districts is required to conduct culminating activity for the Teachers.

VII. OBJECTIVES

The activity aims to achieve the following:

1.      Honor those who are in teaching profession;

2.      Acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service and dedicated commitment of teachers  in developing globally-minded citizen, nurturing families, strengthening communities, and building the nation;

3.      Revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness of the value of teachers in the Philippine society;

4.      Take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession;

5.      Generate widespread support and assistance for teacher; and

6.      Express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.

VIII. PARTICIPANTS:  

            A total of 338 teachers from different schools of the municipality participated in the activity. Specifically, all school heads, district supervisors, education program supervisors, senior program specialist and education program specialist II.

                                   

IX.       BUDGETARY REQUIREMENT:  ₱ 35,490
