DRESSING TRAINING FOR PERSON’S WITH DISABILITIES (PWD)
II. ORGANIZERS : Technical Education
Skills Development Authority (TESDA) through the Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of
Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in coordination with the Municipal Local
Government Unit (MLGU) and the Person’s-with-Disability (PWD) organization of
the Municipality of __________ .

VII. RATIONALE :
From a simple act of aiding someone to sit in a
wheelchair or lending a hand as one ascends or descends the stairs, to learning
how to use scissor in revamping someone’s hair.
These were among the training modules being
given to TESDA trainers and focal persons faced with the challenge of providing
technical vocational education to persons with disabilities (PWDs) since skills
training is one way of connecting PWDs to the physical, social, economic and
cultural environment so they can fully enjoy their rights.
Also, Republic Act No. 7277, otherwise known as the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, mandates TESDA to include vocational training of PWDs as a component of its continuing human resources development program.
VIII. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The activity involves the conduct of a 30–day
training to enhance the capability and skills of the Person’s With Disability
(PWD) of the municipality of __________ on hair dressing. This
will be attended by twenty-five (25) PWD members
from 29 barangays, 1 Resource Person and 2 Secretariat/Training Staff.
A combination of lecture-presentation-discussion
and practical-workshop will be conducted to achieve the 30-day activity. These
will enable the PWD-participants to accept that their disability is only
incidental and this does not deprive them of their rights and opportunities
available to them.
The training shall
be conducted at the __________ . The LGU concerned shall be in-charged with the venue, sound system, foods
and snacks and certificates.
General
Objectives:
The
training-workshop is primarily aimed at providing the PWD participants with
adequate knowledge and proficiency to become productive in terms of hair
dressing which will serve as a good source of income in their respective
community.
Specific
Objectives:
At the end of the training, the PWD-participants
are expected to:
